Wonder if anyone else feels this way…Image

Abandoned by the Christian Generations before us (I am in my mid-30s’), b/c they cannot handle the LGBT issues currently before us.  Usually I stay away from such topics, b/c it is so volatile.  I finally have kind of label for the disappointment I have felt in older Christians—not in the general public.

Most of what I’ve received is “it is wrong” kind of speeches.  Which that is what the Bible says.  I just see no way around Romans 1 and passages in Leviticus.  Thus I am not disagreeing with their position, but that is where they leave it.

So you sit there, o.k. what do I do about the damage they’ve done to this group in the name of holiness?  Where their “holiness” has more to do with prejudice than their Biblical Beliefs.  It has more to do with their comfort-ability and making laws to make sure things stay the same (out of fear of threatened faith), rather than being concerned with a people’s eternity.  They’ve dismissed their humanity and forgotten the image in which they are created regardless of what orientation they’ve chosen to be.

Perhaps I am odd, but I was quite relieved to have the Supreme Court decided as they did.  My hope is it forces the older generations to see the reality before them and help us navigate these turbulent waters.  My hope is they can admit the damage they’ve done.  My hope is they realized they are not the majority any longer.  Where their faith cost them something and to stop trusting in a country to defend their beliefs.  But to fully trust in God, alone.

I think they were to be our torch bearers, but now it has been left to us to do it.
